When I get to 102 and order a Guinness there will be clipped ears if I get a cheese sandwich!
I quote, "Banbury Cheese"
Banbury cheese is a strong, yellow cheese that was made (appropriately) in the town of Banbury in Oxfordshire, England. Banbury cheese was very thin—so much so that when eager eaters pared away the rind, there wasn't much cheese to eat.

It explains why they have survived and 'ereford is better known for its Cyder than its blue fromage.
Wot! No cucumber?
Question Author
Surely you'll need something to soak up the tenth pint of Guinness though, Gness? Won't you?
;-)

I can never work out which cheeses you're supposed to eat the rind with and which ones it's best not too, DTC!

Cucumber? Ooh, there's posh, Tigger! We common folk just have onion, or a nice bit of pickle, instead ;-)

Cake, Chris. :-)
Question Author
Yup, I'm a great cheese fan too, Jura71 ;-)

Life without cake isn't life at all, Gness; it's simply existence ;-)
I hope there was some pickle!
While on the subject of cheese, what's the name of the soft French fromage that has a texture similar to Dairylea triangles? It is dusted with a whitish powder.

^^^ Could it be something as simple as brie, Sandy - or, if you're looking for a brand name, 'Président'?
