My tongue stings and I don't know what has caused it. I will try Bonjella on it tomorrow but just wondered what could be causing it

Firstly I am sure that we are not dealing with anything sinister.
If your symptoms were preceded by your antibiotic administration, then that would be the answer and will go away shortly.
If your sore tongue and tingly lips continue for another 2 weeks, then see your GP who will test for B12 deficiency.

Had a diagnosis from my dentist as this hadn't cleared up. Apparently it is 'Burnt tongue syndrome' He suggested bicarbonate of soda mouth wash - this stung like billy oh. Dr Google suggested rinsing the mouth with vegetable oil - that was gross. I found something that works for me Quark and it is palatable. The dentist said that he it could be caused by lots of things. I think that it could be fruit acid as the irritation gets worse after eating some fruit
