I know this is a big earner for you Ed, but I find it very off-putting. Just out of interest, how many users of AB would admit to clicking on any of the ads? I've never intentionally clicked on one, not just on this site, but any other website. Just, like, sayin'. Yer know? :o)

It's adverts that keep this site going so it's a fine balance between allowing enough and having too many.

Even then, different folk will have different ideas about what level of adverts amounts to too many.

The AnswerBank is a free to use platform. Adverts are the only way to guarantee monthly revenue. Unfortunately, if you want to keep using The AnswerBank, we need to keep displaying adverts.

I think most people get that Ed, its perhaps just the way they are displayed.

Talking generally some site splatter the page and their site becomes unusable, had one the other day (not AB) and I simply left it immediately.

There are certain adverts that we refuse to display because we know they cause irritation, whether they play sound or pop up and force you to close them. We do try to keep them restricted and we are happy to receive feedback if a certain advert or placement of advert is affecting the user experience.

I don't mind ads but these are ridiculous. They keep popping up everywhere and really hurt my eyes. There's no way I'd click on one of them as they are so irritating and repetitive. Can we not just have some that stay still, it's not too much to ask, is it?

'The Perfect Gift' banner is particularly annoying so is there any chance you could at least remove it?

After my original post of 15th I must say that the current situation re pop-ups seems perfectly acceptable. So 'thank-you' to moderators and Ed for making adjustments.
