On my laptop the bar across the bottom with the bit where you click to open a browser and with the weather and time etc on used to be about half an inch tall but somehow it is now about and inch and a half or more - I've obviously clicked on something and can't get it to go back to the correct size - any ideas? Its taking up almost a quarter of the screen.
I'm not here. I'm just a fig leaf of your imagination ;-)
Place your mouse cursor over the top of the taskbar until you see a double-headed arrow. Then hold the left mouse button down while dragging it back into the right place.
Then, to prevent it happening again, right-click on a blank space in the taskbar and select 'Lock the taskbar'.
"Change the height of the taskbar
Like many other changes in the taskbar, you'll need to first unlock the taskbar. Then, move the pointer over the border of the taskbar until the pointer turns into a double arrow. Drag the border to the size you want and release. "
Many thanks although the taskbar wasn't locked before I noticed it, I managed to lock it when trying to sort it out so have now unlocked it and found the double arrow - but as with all these things I have to ask how are you supposed to know?
