7 Seconds - Netflix

I recommended this series some time back and, at the same time, i mentioned it to a friend of mine. We've just had the first of our twice-weekly chats, and guess what? He's just recommended a 'really good series' for me to watch. Yep, 7 Seconds. If he sees an advert for a series that grabs his attention, he jots it down for future viewing. He'd forgotten i had recommended it to him.

Sets things up quite nicely for next Tuesday's last ever episode.
As regards the Preston Guild. Preston isn't that far from Burnley so 'Once every Preston Guild' is quite a common saying in the area.

Ken: At your suggestion we watched the first two episodes of 'Seven Seconds' last evening, & I agree that it it has an interesting story line, is quite well directed & acted, BUT, in what is becoming increasingly prevalent on Netflix (& why many people, so I read, are giving up subscribing) is its appalling wokeism.
Did you not find that, -at least in these two episodes, ALL the white people were either crooked or stupid, and that all the, err, people of colour, were either sympathetic, or 'victims' of some sort?

Ken; //Why can't you just enjoy a good drama for what it is..//
Because people place different interpretations on what they are watching & thinking. I didn't say it was bad, in fact the opposite.
We shall continue with it & thank you for the recommendation, but I can't help but be aware of the total imbalance in the casting of the characters.
For example there is a scene in a diner, where the all-white group of cops are having coffees when in comes a gang of rowdy black youths who begin pouring abuse on the cops. I though, aha! at last some recognisable badass kids, but no; one of the cops goes over snatches his new smart phone and dumps it in his glass of water, so we revert immediately to, it's black kids being the victims of the police.
