Pound symbol malfunction

When I press the key on my computer keyboard to get a "pound" symbol a"#" comes up.
Also I have to press ' to get a @ and I have to press @ to get a " Does anyone know why?

Windows thinks you have a non-UK keyboard.

Go into the control panel and use Regional and Language Options to change the keyboard (and other settings) to UK.

It may need to be changed in 3or 4 places.
