The Adventure Game.
I loved the Adventure Game. Was the plant called Grandfather??? I think he was a large Aspidistra (sp??) They used to chuck their ham sandwiches onto the vortex at the end....What was eth currency called? Was it drogma??
The currency was drogna. Everything was an anagram of dragon. 'Grandfather' could transform himself in to loads of things. I think he was a teapot once.
was that where 'Doogy Rev' came from ??(should post this in Phrases and Sayings)
Great show. Everybody had to bow and say 'Gronda, gronda your royal highness' to the aspidistra - I think it was supposed to be somebody majestic?
Gronda Gronda Rangdo!

That brings back memories! :-) (i.e. "gronda" being the greeting, and "Rangdo" being the name of the plant. AFAIremember, the aliens on the planet were dragons who metamorphosed themselves into human form in order to make the Earth visitors feel comfortable. The chief dragon preferred to metamorphose into a plant because he wasn't comfortable in human form. I don't remember the name "Grandfather" though.
I loved that. the contestants were tv celebs of the time and one round involved directing a small furry creature around a computer generated maze. Hi-tec at the time! There was also a round where all the contestants were chained to retractable lines to a wall and had to collect specific coloured and shaped tokens to allow more line to be released so they could reach the keys. Great fun. Doogy Rev was obviously Very Good backwards spoken by one of the hosts who always spoke reversed. Why don't TV producers repeat this!
