Hazlinney........years ago BP was taken lying down after a rest, even at the Drs surgery. But the argument was that you spent the most of your life, standing up or sitting down and a BP after rest and or lying down was not a true representatative of your cardiovascular state.
I agreed.
So now at home if one takes one's BP 2 or 3 times a day, sitting, then that gives a true representative of one's BP i.e whether treatment is necessarry or not.

Hi Bobbs - I know it is not for you but works for me.
When I take a notion of cutting down a certain thing - I weigh myself every day and could never get over losing maybe a pound or half a pound - it was a great feeling as then I knew I was losing. It worked for me - I do have digital scales which actual tell you the loss of ounces LOL and they would have helped me along too.
the only difficulty I had was subtraction - do I subtract from 14lbs or 16 ounces. Had to scratch the oul grey matter as ounces do matter LOL - good luck with trying to lose weight but as you say you are a certain age - don't worry about it too much as life is far too short with a pound or two extra.
