My elderly mum has had a leak in the bath due to a blockage and the plumber says we need a jet washer in and not to use the bath until they have been? I wasn't there to ask him questions and she is very confused as to why she can't bathe until after they have been as the leak seems to have stopped. Can anyone confirm why? Please bear with me as I know there's probably an obvious answer but it's all been very stressful

Hasn't the leak stopped because the bath is empty?
If she fills the bath, isn't it going to start again?
(Sorry but not sure I'm understanding the situation properly!)
Sounds dodgy. Have you tried using a drain unblocker such as:

A jet washer might just loosen all the joints in the trap.
the words leak and blockage in the op don't correlate to me?
^yep, I'm not sure we are getting quite what's going on...where's the leak, where's the blockage...and where's the plumber!?
We seem to be getting mixed messages from your OP grizzly, could you elucidate/expand please.
