Von Dutch a fake?

I've just ordered a Von Dutch top off of Ebay. It has no proper label, although there is a printed msg inside saying "Von Dutch Originals, 100% Made in USA." Then along the side seam, there is a tiny little label saying "Made in Thailand." Does anyone know if this is a fake or not?

there was an article either in the Sun, Sunday Times or News of the World which I've read this week about fakes being sold on ebay. A Von Dutch logo on cheap shirt was one of the examples

When it comes to Ebay if your not sure dont buy it - I know plenty of people who have been stung. Also just recently I had a so called Fraud alert from Ebay saying that someone had tried using my account - this was also a fake (but looked very real) and was asking for my bank details to confirm I was me. DONT DO IT!

Oddly enough I was given a Lacoste shirt which had a piece of Thai newspaper sewn into the label, and then found a made in Thailand label inside, though the neck label said Lacoste, made in France. This seemed more like a legal fiction where Lacoste themselves pretended to make their shirts in France while covering themselves by adding the truth elsewhere. But if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. The quality was what I'd expect from Lacoste and was bought I seem to remember in Dubai, but definitely a long way from England.

For the copies the brand labels are often the real thing, an over-run in the factory, or "seconds". Labels & the garments are often shipped separately then combined in a "sweat shop factory" General, but boring rule of thumb, if its too good to be true, it probably is!

The thing to bar in mind in this particular case is that Von Dutch have only a relativley small range of products they manufacture in total. Many of the fakes for this company come on t-shirts in styles/designs that the real company does not make. Fakes are easy to spot when you look at their total offical range.

a lot of (cool)gear on ebay is fake thats why people can sell it so cheap be very very careful only go 98-100%feedback and money back guaranteed if not authentic i got a big delivery direct from von dutch.com(try them shipping is quite good and reasnable0and some of their gear was made in places like peru eec etc cheaper to manufacture abroad but thailand notorious for fakes so who knows what we buy

Whats a "Real" Von Dutch anything these days. Von Dutch is a clothing company who stole the name Von Dutch, sells stuff at rediculously high prices, like a hat that costs them $5.00 to print and then sells it for $30.00, and then turns around and claims to be the "ORINGINAL" Von Dutch. Its a shame that people who buy Von Dutch appearel know nothing about the man behind the name Von Dutch. If anybody is interested in knowing something about the ONE AND ONLY, TRUE Von Dutch, who has NOTHING to do with this rip off of a company, look up Kenny Beerup. He's turning around in his grave today thinking that this company is using his name for such an outrageous profit, which was everything that Kenny Beerup or Von Dutch was against. Wow that felt so good to get that out, and thanks for reading, hopefully it knocked some sense into some minds.

According to Google if the stitching is single stitching (one stitch per hole) and very straight, then they are most likely authentic. I actually just won a pair bidding through the salvation army. And they are very new condition no sign of being worn and the stitching is single stitching and very straight stitching. Hope this helps!
