I have been thinking of cancelling my Sky tv package. I don’t have a aerial so can’t receive tv that way. I’ll get an aerial if it’s required. Is there a recording device/box that I can buy to do the same job as my Sky Q box, which I have to send that back to Sky. Thanks.

Plenty of PVR to choose from which will record single programmes and series links but I don't know what else Sky Q does
Most TVs have built in Freeview and apps. BBC, ITV and C4 have a catch up service so there is no need to record anything, just stream it.
How old is your TV. Is it smart ?
plenty of hard drive recorders available if you want to record..look on E BAY/AMAZON
I think I have 3 or maybe 4 hard disc recorders & don't really use any of them (some of the menu systems are quite user-unfriendly). It seems the more TV there is the less I watch!
I would not be without my recorders - it means I can FF through adverts and 'guff', watch my recordings in my own time even years from now. No guarantee programmes will always be on the catch up services and not every channel has catch up.
Forgot to say I can also watch my recordings if I have no internet service.
Humax do a Freesat recording box but I don't know if it uses the same satellite as Sky; if not you might need your dish realigning.

This is the Humax https://uk.humaxdigital.com/product/hdr-1100s/

Are you living in the UK, though?
Sorry, bhg, I hadn't scrolled down enough to see your link
