Now I'm an easy-going soul just coasting along in life but find myself irked by the need for a few posters to spread their thoughts via one-line posts when a moments thought could condense most into one.
They start to read like a bit of a sniping bitchfest after a while.
I do wonder if their face-to-face conversations are like that too, spraffing for the sake of it.
Hi Doug, mornin'
I listen to 6 y olds habitually - Chomsky n all that , seems to be right ( they have a sentence generator as the number of random combinations to learn is too great)
and yeah
they are like the one liners here
Some ABers ( the quick ones) took a year or so to recognise 'foo!' as a random AB one-liner that means nothing besides "I act as a spacer"
Read quite a lot of Edw FitzGeralds translation of the Rubaiyyat this morning
are you talking about the certain poster who posts quite often, then invariably almost immediately follows up with the first answer (like they couldn't put everything in the question)?
or the (different) poster, who can't see to ever post 1 reply, but has to post 3 in a row?
or in general people just wanging on?
Tbh Dougie , I always thought it best to ask a question , not crowd that particular area then drop down to the answer box and give my take on it, is that wrong? I’ll remedy that in the future :0)
I think it depends on whether a person writes (or wrote) as part of their job. Those that don't tend to write as they speak, less concisely and more conversationally.
