Why When Our Country Is Facing Soaring Costs

With fuel and the cost of living crisis, do we continue with overseas aid to places like Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia, Afghanistan and Yemen, , the money going to Afghanistan is going straight to the Taliban isn’t it?
We send money to India yet they have a Space programme ?
I have no link,it’s not News, and I’m not sure what category this should be in so I’ve put it in S&C as there’ll be no Ed(s) to move it till Monday

Moral duty to fellow human beings is why we help those in need. But granted some aid seems to be going to inappropriate places. One suspects there must be some quid pro quo going on.

If one half of the planet is good and the other not,then the not so good will infect the good sooner or later. Its a bit like having a slum area/street near you that don't get improved,it will spread like a virus.Its in our own interests to invest sometimes,like giving money for the vaccines.Some of these countries provide us with certain materials we need also.

Perhaps 'guilt' explains Nigeria, Somalia, Afghanistan and Yemen aid, whereas Ethiopia only had the British boot to replace the Italian boot.
The more guilt the better.
