What Should I Do???? Ask Him To Be My Bf??

I really like a guy who also likes me and I am trying to come up with a cute and simple way to ask him to be my bf. I thought that because he makes me little gum wrapper hearts sometimes, I could make him one but write, "will you be my boyfriend?" in it and give it to him on the bus tomorrow. It is kinda cheesy but I really need advice. If you don't like this idea, then do you have any other ideas?
