7am news on BBC Radio today…top story: Serena Williams knocked out of the US Open. With all that’s going on in the World, how can the BBC prioritise this? Also this is the news in Britain and she’s American, the tournament is taking place in the USA, it’s not even at an important stage…. Andy Murray, Britain’s best ever, also just lost and may also soon retire, but somehow didn’t merit a mention. How is the BBC making dumb decisions like this?

Nothing ever goes up 2p, 3p or 5p nowadays, Dave. 10p every time. They usually do it with the Saturday edition then print a mealy-mouthed apology on the following Monday.

She's retiring and is also one of the most successful players of all time so I guess it is headline news.

I can't remember the last time I bought a newspaper......late 90s I think.

Yes - the Bill Turnbull love-in. No doubt he was well liked by his colleagues & a sad loss at a comparatively young age but TBH I can't ever remember watching him.

I have stopped buying newspapers too. Got fed up of the gossip & double page spreads of SCD & IACGMOOH to name a few. No real news of what was going on in the world.
