Has Anyone Moved From London To Cornwall

Went on holiday to Newlyn for a week, mixed reception from the locals and I never did a stroke of work.

I think the further into Cornwall the better. The far south west still clings to the pirate ethos.

It depends where you live. If you live inland (and a lot of Cornish towns aren't very attractive) you should be OK. If you live at the coast there won't be any 'natives' there anyway and every third house will be a holiday cottage.

Anything with a sea view in the SW costs a fortune now. I can remember when locals could afford a sea view. Not anymore.

i havent moved from london to cornwall, but i have a friend who did. She found it EXCEEDINGLY hard to get a job, even agency work, as did her husband and they struggled for a while. She is very active in her church, so i think has good relationships locally

A friend of ours moved to Devon, thought she would struggle so built up extra savings just in case but go a job within 2 weeks, no one treats her any different.

One can always move to Plymouth...folks are friendly enough and Cornwall is just across the river.

Same as where we live, but our inland areas are attractive too. We could never afford to what is called millionaires coastline now. Personally I think Cornwall inland isn't very scenic. i used to go every year to visit a friend.
