As well as shaking spiders out of your wellies before putting them on check for slugs in the toe. It's sixty years since I had to scrape a concertinaed slug from between my toes. They are still very sticky. :-(
Although slugs get everywhere, Barry I'll try that. We have a slug here that's a protected species. We're not allowed to injure or disturb it in any way. I tried not to look too closely as I prised it from between my toes.
Or try putting old socks or tights over the tops of your wellies, closing off the openings.
I tried using plastic bags but found that made the insides sweaty, probably because the air couldn't get inside.
I spent a lot of my childhood playing with frogs, Ginge....yes we were poor.... ;-).... since moving to this field I haven't seen one frog. Sooner have a frog than a slug.
I hate slugs too, Pasta. And snakes but good old St. Pat sorted that for me.
