One of Bob Dylans best surely.Partner played the album Desire right now,i remember it from about 1974.Surely one of Dylans best?Did i just mention that? Both Desire and Hurricane.
I'd forgotten that he used a solo violinist to accompany him on that track. (It certainly wouldn't have been the first instrument of choice for many pop/rock artists at that time!)
Long been one of my favourite Dylan songs. That run of mid-70s records Dylan had: Planet Waves/Blood On The Tracks/Desire, was as good as anything in his 60s prime.
Dylan, like Cohen, is a master of prose. The fact he can't really sing only adds weight to his prose, imho. His 'croaky' voice is now even croakier, yet 'Murder Most foul' wouldn't sound the same were it done by anyone else.
Another song-"one more cup of coffee",i never realised this song was by Dylan.I thought it was Johnny Cash or Neil Young. It was covered by Tom Jones at one time.Mr Zimmerman was certainly a prodigious songwriter wasnt he?
