This is not a political point but the more I see President Biden, especially today at the palace, he seems senile. Every sentence seems to be an effort and the First Lady, today, looks embarrassed to be standing at his side.

I think the Democrats realised Biden was the best chance of seeing off Trump,
If you remember there were a lot of Democrat car crashes in the early part of the campaign.
I find it more astounding and worrying that Trump can command as much support as he does in the USA.
A comforting thought tho is that for all the noise for the edges, the middle ground among the US electorate still matters and Trump has lost them for good.

We tend to think of people who speak slowly as being less intelligent, but Biden is carefully trying to avoid stammering.
Worry is that America will slip into Civil War as the Republican party is leaning towards Fascism
