It might have been more challenging if there had been less guidance about how to fill the mini-grid

The answer for German Measles seems wrong as the one that fits the grid is a children's disease known as the sixth disease and not GM ?

I agree entirely, jazzgirl - BUT (and it's a big but), Chambers gives German Measles as definition 2 for the word.

I actually think Chambers is wrong, but that's what we work to.

I cannot agree with Chambers . That's my medical training gone down the drain ! My Dorland's Medical Dictionary agrees with me

A different medical ref. book shows it to be "any rose- coloured rash"so I may have to accept that

After a bit of digging in various dictionaries, it appears that it's our American friends who misuse the word as a synonym for GM - I think Chambers should indicate that.

It wouldn't be the first time Chambers has had to review . The Listener answer is quite a mild disease whereas German Measles can be very serious indeed

The grid gimmick looks quite restricting, but I wonder if there could have been a way to do something to lift it a little. I think I'd have presented it as a carte blanche, with clues in normal order, where the grid is erased at the end and triple-size letters written within the blue grid.

Someone mentioned the Inquisitor -- is that available on-line (even at a cost)? I'm jones-ing a bit now that Enigmatic Variations has been dropped from the Telegraph website.

Re Inquisitor: being old-fashioned I buy the paper, I think it is behind a pay wall but I couldn't swear to that.

Yes I'm old-fashioned that way as well, but I'm overseas so buying the paper is not an option for me. Don't mind paying for an online subscription but cannot find confirmation Inquisitor would be included.
