I was doing an oil change on my car and noticed that it had been welded the sump plug had silicon on it and no washer. The one for the oil filter did not fit. I ordered a new plug for the car and it also was too small but the washer fit. But seems to trickle through and without the washer it seemed to not trickle through. But is it possible it is leaking while driving. Also would i be best off getting a new sump if it has been re sized?

You mean the sump plug had been welded?

It looks like they snapped the thing off. And the area is welded. Not sure how
Sounds like a new sump is needed, to me. Too risky otherwise (full engine replacement if all oil goes on motorway)

Yeah sounds like a plan. I will try get one soon as possible
The car may have grounded at speed and the plug and part of the sump has been ripped off then cobbled up to avoid expense.
