I note that the NHS web page about Co-codamol says:
"Co-codamol comes as tablets and capsules.
Swallow them whole with a drink of water"
So that would seem to suggest that the user shouldn't break them up in any way. However the same page then goes on to state:
"Co-codamol also comes as soluble tablets that dissolve in water to make a drink".

It therefore seems that it's acceptable to dissolve certain types of Co-codamol. I doubt that it would make any difference if one was to use squash or most types of fruit juice with such tablets, instead of just water. However it might be best to avoid grapefruit juice (which is known to interact with certain drugs) and hot drinks (which might cause the drug to enter one's system faster than intended).
