Another Wee Question

I transferred money from my Credit Union account to my Santander account.

The money has left the Credit Union but not gone into Santander.

As Credit Union not too far away I jumped in the car - the wee cashier told me it could be some hours before the money lands in Santander.

I did this about 11am and still not in. She mentioned it goes in as in a "sweep".

there's usually a clearing in the bank system around 3 - otherwise it could be overnight.

If you transfer on line there is usually a cut off time for same day transfer

I think it depends are "linked" in some way. Transfers from First Direct to HSBC or Chase happen within minutes. If it's from Zopa or other financial providers it may take a few days.

I still do chequew - so anything which is less than six days i regard as nothing short of miraculous.
