What I would like to know why is it that in the catholic church the Our Father has a shorter ending?

The Roman Catholic Church has a longer Lords' Prayer than the Church of England.

What exactly do you mean?

The final doxology of the Paternoster is included within the main body of the Lord's prayer in the Church of England, and although it is not in Roman Catholic mass it is said aloud in modern mass after a little break in the service where the priest says...

All: ....and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Priest: Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

All: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.
