Phone Won't Alert Me At Night

I user an app 24/7 that sends me an alert periodically but has suddenly stopped doing it overnight unless I happen to "wake up" the phone (a Samsung where I have to tap it to wake it up. Would love to get rid of that but apparently it's "a thing" with Samsungs). I haven't changed any settings, there's "No Disturb" set up. Have searched thru' the phone, see if anything's changed, what could I be missing ?

Delete the app, turn phone off then on again, re-install the app and see if that works.

Thanks but it's an old version of an app that I really - really - don't want updated. If I uninstall, I lose it for good.

You say you have 'no disturb' set up. If that is the case, switch it off.

It's an app specific to work, barry1010. It still works fine, but they'd like me to update to the newer buggy & problematic app. Makes no odds to them what I use & I want to hang on to it, at least 'til I can upgrade my phone. All irrelevant really, was working fine, this is a recent issue. As I say, if I can keep the phone awake, there's no problem.

Would help if you mentioned the Android version.
If it's 12, then:
Long press the app icon and tap the info icon.
Tap on battery.
Select unrestricted. This will prevent the phone from powering it down if not opened.

Ahh, didn't know about that TheChair, but it is v12, have checked & it is unrestricted.

I haven't changed anything that I'm aware of, why I can't make out why it's suddenly not working properly *sigh*

Maybe it has updated and it is set to not give alerts during certain hours by the developer

I have updates blocked barry1010, as if I didn't it would've updated to the new version which is completely different & was released full of bugs (which I know from other people using it. And complaining ! LOL)
It's something on my phone but just cannot fathom what.

Would be LMAO were it not so annoying. I have set for 'no updates' and yet regularly get things updated. It's my mobile or tablet but apparently the rest of the world thinks it has some unjustifiable right to load code onto it without permission.

Mine's an A71 barry1010. I went to the shop after an initial problem (can't remember what) & mentioned this having to keep tap the screen to wake the thing up, "don't want it", but was told it's a security feature & can't be turned off.
Had a look at that link & while I don't have the options it mentions, it did point me towards the sleeping apps. The app with the issue isn't on any of the lists, & it's not there to add to "never sleeping" (or any of them actually). Maybe because the battery's unrestricted ?
Quite agree Old_Geezer. I did the system updates, just to see if it'd make any difference (it hasn't), & stuff's changed, stuff that didn't need to be changed ! Exactly why I don't usually bother :((
