' Wanted old bungalow in North Norfolk

Requirements. Slightly scruffy, no very near neighbours, fields all around, slightly quirky, no ultra modern features, strictly no grey in sight, woodburner essential must be suitable for cats and dogs to lounge around in and have a reasonable sized garden devoted to nature. Must ooze homeliness'


Hopefully we have found one. But there hasn't been much choice. Developers have dived in and made them into clinical monstrosities. I simply can't cope much longer with stairs.

Searching for a new home is wearing me out.

Canary it’s not in decline as such it’s full of snobs who think themselves above everyone else.
Canary do you remember the Applehill or Edal hotels?

But Holt has been taken over in the last decade or so and even the high street Christmas lights have to match everyone else’s

RedHelen, the names ring a bell but can't say I remember the buildings. Was Applehill the out-of-town restaurant on the coast road between Sheringham and Blakeney, because if so I do remember dining there.

I wouldn't think High Kelling is snobby Margot, but is too Estate like for us. It is known for being a place for the elderly though. Very genteel. We're not ;0)

Yes that was Applehill, my MIL and FIL owned it.
LL The Pigs were dad’s favourite place ate and stayed there a lot

The Pigs is co-owned by Mr Wilson of Byfords one of the more snobby places in Holt

I know Margot. But we like the food! I loved to go to Holt years ago, now it's part of the millionaires Coast. Lots of the locals hate it now and I know of quite a few who have moved out. It's not just Holt that has been ruined. My old neighbour moved to Holt because she got a job at the prestigious Greshams Public School. She has retired back to this area. You have to live here to realise how things have changed.

Oh jack. That's such a nice offer. Our own plot of land could take two houses,but highways would never agree. We did get permission for a detached granny annex some years ago, but Mum opted out. I'm the granny now!!, Xx.
