I mentioned a few weeks back that the King does not share his mother's love of the racing game.
It would now appear that he is prepared to allow the whole operation to wind down.

What? You care if 'the king' might not pursue his mother's hobby? Why does anyone care? Please enlighten us.
Could he not give them to his sister and niece . It seems such a shame.

Paigne why are you always such a pain!
i don't care n the slightest, however i appear to understand this website isnt personalised to me (unlike you)
Clearly, we do not know what the terms of her Will were (and doubtless will never do so). Assuming The King is the executor or has been specifically bequeathed the horses, he has every right to sell them.

I doubt The Princess Royal or Zara Phillips would want them since they will be racehorses rather than eventers.
I would think the proceeds will go to deserving charities and the horses will find good forever homes.
The Queen was interested in breeding racehorses throughout her life. Apart from playing polo Charles pursued other interests and has also said he wants a slimmed down monarchy. Whilst the Queen's Stud employs many people it might not be cost effective. As long as the horses are well cared for there should not be an issue with what Charles is doing
Lots of people get rid of stuff that belonged too their mums and dads. Must take an army of people to look after them.Like said the money might end up going ti charities. Charitity shops do well out of mum and Dad.

Miss Terious, "good forever homes? The horses aren't being sold as pets. And why would he give the money to charities? It's a business.
Ken. I meant when their racing days are over. And I'm very against animals being used for making money. Even though we have a racecourse just half a mile away behind our house. In 43 years we have never been to the races.
As advised, you would not expect Charles to carry on a hobby he did not share with his mother.

My mother's hobby was smoking, I didn't carry that on after she died either.
