The big push towards Kherson has evidently started.

Shelling by Ukrainian artillery all along the front line

Meanwhile, the Kerch bridge won't be repaired until July 2023, says Russia.
They may not need it by then :-)

40 km NORTH of the Ukrainian border
in case any one was wondering

oo-er tovarich, (*)what will happen now? is this the first time Ukraine has attacked beyong its borders ?

(*) and tovaricha = conradess
One of the many nasty surprises Putin will have received since February. - yeah I think he cd rely on Hungary to slow things up- which I admit put up a good slowing fight

as for History - if you dont like it, rewrite it ! - -- look at Iran
Ye but, if Ukraine go beyond their own border, it's only a special military operation, nothing to worry about.

As an interesting aside, does anyone believe that the Kerch bridge was damaged by a truck bomb (!)
looks like it was blown from underneath
Question Author
It was a missile
ichi; Missiles produce holes (big ones!) of which there appeared to be none on the bridge.
Question Author
There are impact marks.
I posted a picture some while showing them
Maybe Ukraine (with NATO help) should launch a few "kamikaze drones" on Moscow. Give Putin a taste of his own medicine.
Question Author
I would have thought a missile would have done greater damage.

Kamikaze drone attack on Kyiv this morning: targeting it would seem energy infrastructure

It’s actually quite hard to destroy a bridge from the air. Bridges are designed to cope with a lot of downward force.
Ukraine has been bombarding the big bridge in Kherson for weeks and it was only comparatively recently that it was definitely put out of use to any traffic.
The underwater theory is nice but rather implausible perhaps. Added to which it probably would have done an even better job

This report is rather infuriating: of course Russia has Shaheed drones from Iran. They are primitive but effective. Ukraine has shot down scores of them but they have a lot of them.
And of course Ukraine hit Belgorod yesterday: but when Ukraine hits targers in Russia it hits military targets with precision strikes.
Ichkeria, if this video link works, you will love it - see it through.

Thanks DT.
Nice one :-)

Today in Kyiv a young couple (and their cat) were killed in a Russian/Iranian drone strike.
The woman, a sommelier, was six months pregnant.
This is what these weapons do.
Warning: it’s very graphic so don’t look unless you’re sure and if a mod wants to zap this post I’ll understand and apologise in advance

But remember: Russia is a terrorist state just as much as Iran.
I don't understand why Ukraine doesn't retaliate by bombing infrastructure targets inside Russia as far as it can reach - I know I would.
