Water Jug

I take water up to bed every night as I like to take my tablets and subsequent some glasses of water.

I need a new one but want a smaller one. However this very old jug of mine doesn't tell me what litre it is.

I measured it roughly top to bottom and across and it is 9" x 8". Would that be 1.8litre or what. Thanks for any answers.

1L would be a cube with 10cm sides, i.e. about 4" each side.

OOOPS! It's actually a pint or just over 1/2 litre. It was the 20 fluid ounces marking that fooled me.

I think the idea of filling the jug then pouring it into a milk bottle or similar us a good one. You'd know how many litres/parts thereof a new jug should hold. I use a plastic sports bottle which holds a litre though I don't drink much water during the night. I refill each day so the water is fresh.

I just use a litre bottle with a cap that flicks open and fill it up at night.

When I buy a new bottle, I always unscrew the top because it's a lot easier doing it when it's full instead of trying when empty and squashing it.

If I took a jug of water to bed every night I'd never sleep I'd be back and forth to the loo even more than I am now. 1/3rd of a small glass does me so I can take a Melatonin if I can't sleep.

jj aren't you "looing" all night with that amount of water?
