I've recently lost 1st 10lbs but have not changed clothes size at all. I'm still wearing the same size I was before and can't even get the next size down over my bum. I was always under the impression that it equated to about 1 size you lose with every stone (i know it would be slightly different for everyone) but surely I should have changed size just a little by now! Any one know how it really works? It's really p***ing me off. Thanks! :o)
You must have lost it from somewhere!! They always say never go by what the scales say,but by what the tape measure says - did you measure yourself beforehand??
Do not panic Milly143!!! This is the same with me.. I can loose or gain up to a stone in weight and my clothes size stays the same, infact my clothes don't actually feel any different on me either! be reassurred!!xx
It varies from individual to individual but while as a general guideline that it's possible to go down a dress size if you lose a stone, in my experience that doesn't always apply when a lady is larger then average size but sometimes it also a case of not so much needing to lose weight as tone up, you should also bear in mind that sometimes bums & thighs are last places to show results
I don't take too much notice of the scales. I think it is better to measure yourself when you start losing weight and once a month after. That way you can see where the weight is going from. I was a size 16. A tight 16 at that. I have lost over 2 and a half stone but I am only in a size 14. A loose 14. Just keep going. As long as you are losing weight, your dress size has to go down.
Could it be that like most overweight people, (me included) we squeeze into clothes a bit too small for us and so when you lose the weight they just tend to fit how they are supposed to!
Thanks for your answers! I suppose if I'm honest with myself I don't really do much excersize so I'm not really toning up at all and my size 16 trousers were probably a bit tight before I started losing weight. I'm kicking myself for not measuring before I started though. I shall just have to percivere (sp). Thanks guys!!!!
