A chesty cough is considered a PRODUCTIVE cough- ie- one with loose phlegm. So that particular medicine will sort that. Medicine for a DRY cough is a NON-PRODUCTIVE or tickly cough, where you cough and your chest feels all tight, and there is no phlegm. This one obviously "breaks it up" so that there is phlegm that you can just cough away. If you take the wrong one, it won't do the job!!
