There are lots of things you could do but the most important is to start
learning about yourself. Learning about yourself gives you a better idea of what you want to do and hence what aspects of yourself you should be improving.
Think about yourself (I know it sounds self evident but bear with me).
Think about what you like (why?). Think about what you don't like (why?). Think about what you like doing (why?). Think about what you don't like doing (why?). Think about what you would like to do but don't (why don't you and how could you sort that?). Think about your skills, which skills do you have and which do you lack? Think about what you value in life: what interests you, what motivates you, what makes you happy?
Spend time thinking about these things before you start anything else. One book I'd recommend you get (should have it in the library) is The Mind Map Book by Tony Buzan. It will definately help you think these things through.
