willa - Phoebe Cates! Whatever happened to her. Not sure I saw Lace but your comment made me laugh. I recall she was very cute though.
Always cracks me up that Richard Attenborough's character Hammond in Jurassic Park is meant to be Scottish, for no reason that has any bearing on the film. He does a just-discernable Scottish accent in his opening scene, and from then on there's no sign of it - almost as though he thought "Well, we've established he's Scottish so we don't need the accent anymore now." Though just for good measure, he briefly resurrects it later and says "...when I came down from Scotland."
NJOK, to be fair the Oldman accent in True Romance is meant to be really stupid, isn't it? To reflect the ludicrousness of this white boy trying to be all black. But yes, Postlethwaite's Mr Kobayashi baffled me. A Japanese sounding name and a sort-of all-purpose oriental-ish accent, from what is clearly and unequivocally a white westerner. Huh???
Not films I know but Daphne's relatives in Frasier. Her supposed Manchester accent is dodgy enough but her relatives all had Van Dyke-style rotten mockney accents - work that one out.
"Meary Puppings" - that made me laugh out loud. Gor bloymey, moyte.
