We're having marinated salmon with a vegetable, noodle and cashew nut stir fry.

What's captivating your palate later?

Yet my stepson couldn’t get it ( peas pudding ) when he lived in Cambridge Naomi ? Or Black pudding either , bleughhh
at dinner time at 1o'clock had pie, potato slices, carrots and broccoli, now at tea time a bowl of soup and a cob.
and back pudding can be brilliant as well as white pudding - the French with their respective boudin noir et blanc - but Hog's pudding down here, yum, - and great with scallops - particularly if you can find the chilli-version....not easy to find.
Cambridge is a long way from East London, Bobbi … in more ways than one. Actually, I doubt you’d get pease pudding in London now. It’s an old fashioned thing.

Black pudding was eaten too. I think that’s still fairly widely available in supermarkets …. if you like that kind of thing. :o/

I don’t think white pudding was a London thing though. I think that’s more a northern ‘delicacy’. It’s a ‘no’ from me for all of it.

Do you have faggots in the north? That’s another old East End thing. They’d eat saveloys with those too. Made of innards I think and very savoury.
We may have but it’s not something I’ve seen on a pub menu
Faggots are popular in Wales and the Midlands, not a 'northern' food, wherever 'north' may be that is.
There was a young English lad in France who made faggots, all wrapped in caul, and the French loved them. I gave them a miss I'm afraid.
We had a few appointments today so popped into tesco on our way home. Little Tigs wanted a meal deal so he got a sandwich, fruit pot and drink. I bought some olive ciabatta rolls and dairy free halloumi style cheese (violife). Grilled it to go in the roll with sliced tomatoes and some more olives. It was yummy :o)
I must be one of a few who likes mushy peas.

Never had peas pudding and not sure what it is.

I had Brains faggots many years ago but if I remember correctly they just tasted like large meatballs in gravy.

Black pudding, white pudding and haggis......tasted all of them a few years back and that was enough for me. Thanks but no thanks!
>>> Never had peas pudding and not sure what it is

It's a sort of 'pea sludge', Tigger ;-)

Looks grim but I love lentil soup so not far off, Chris. Might have to try making it :o)
I’ve never heard of white pudding, you lot darn sarf make it up don’t cha. So you look smarter than us dim wits oop north. As a Yorkshireman I like faggots quite tasty.
I like mushy peas too Tigger :-)
Yay :o)
Arky...white pudding isn't from the south. I need to try it...I love both black pudding and haggis. Can't stand mushy peas though...or those horrible marrowfat peas. Yuck!

Wow although having a bit of a jape towards my southern country folk. I did think it was made up.
Sounds quite nice actually.
