Is It Best To Eat At Your Goal Weight

I am wanting to be 110 lb and right now I am 165 lb. Is it ok to eat the maintenance calories for my goal weight in order to help me lose the weight? This means that I would be having to eat between 1300 and 1400 calories daily maximum. This is not fountain for activity like working out and so on. I am 5 feet tall and in need of losing weight.

Aim for 1400 cal per day to reduce your weight & increase this to maintain that weight once you reach your target.
What do you eat now?
You will lose weight if you can eat the maintenance calories, but it’s not sustainable.
Forget calorie counting, give up the obvious foods like cake, biscuits, crisps etc. Eat more protein and veg.
Your target weight seems a little low.
At 5 ft tall and 165 lb your BMI is 32, which isn’t too bad; the ideal maximum healthy BMI is 25 (as recommended by most health authorities).

To achieve a BMI of 25, you’d need to weigh 128 lb, whereas your stated target weight would take you to a BMI of 22.5.

I’ve calculated that an average person needs a daily calorie intake of 15 calories/lb of weight (or 33 calories/kg of weight) to maintain that weight. So by my calculations, you should consume 1650 calories/day to reach and maintain your ideal weight of 110 lbs.

My advice would be to consume that 1650 calories, which will take you to your idea weight reasonably quickly and you will be consuming your future normal calorie intake to maintain that weight.

The BMI is calculated from your weight (in kg), divided by your height (in metres) squared.

The BMI is a fairly crude measurement, to my mind a much better indication that a person is not overweight is that your waist circumference should not be greater than half your height.
55lb is a lot of weight to lose and is daunting.
My advice to you is to first aim to lose 10% of your current weight, 16.51b. That is still a significant loss and will be noticeable, but it is achievable.
Hymie gives excellent advice about your calorie intake. If you restrict your diet too much you will feel unwell and find it very hard to stick to. Vary your food types, decide what foods you really can't give up and find a way to incorporate them in to your diet. For example, I love spaghetti bolognese and was not prepared to never eat it again. I cut out the garlic bread that I always used to eat with it, made the bolognese with more veg, less fat and lean minced beef and served it with less pasta.
