This item has recently come into my possession and I would like to know what it is/was used for. It looks like a soup ladle but on a miniature scale. I have seen such small ladle-like items used to serve sauces BUT this one has a quantity of holes pierced in the bowl. So what could it be used for? The handle is 3 inches/7.5 cm long and the bowl is 1.5 inches/3.8 cm in diameter. Each hole in the bowl is 2mm across.
Another good answer from Peachy51, thanks.
This mini-ladle might be silver-plated though, not sure, so I cannot help wondering whether the vinegar from the pickled onions might damage it. Still a good answer though and another one I had not thought of.
