Sickly Tv

While watching it my TV suddenly lost the picture and was sound only. It is only 4 years old but does this mean its "had it"? I've tried it several times in case is was just a glitch, but no joy, doesn't even get past the intro page which just flashes on then off. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks

has it got a headphone jack or phono output if so just attach a pair of speakers.hope this is of some use

How do you view your tv ? Through an ariel, Sky, Virgin, something else?

We will need more info "Genie". Make and model of tv, is it working on a digital box of some sort, if it is a smart tv has it done all available upgrades, and first and foremost have you switched off at the pug socket, unplugged it, and then waited for a couple of minutes before plugging it in and switching it on again? If you have a digital box connected do the same with that as well.

It is also a good idea to hold the on off swich down on the tv for 30 seconds whilst it is unplugged and before plugging back in again. This discharges the power board capacitors and give a clean re-boot.
