I wish it were bi-ennial. Or a Triffid & move on.
The correct phrase is to give it the whole 9 yards and it originates from world war II. The chain of bullets which was loaded on the spitfire fighter plane was nine yards long. If you emptyied your guns amo into an enemy you were said to be giving him the whole nine yards.
