The last edition made the rich richer, the poor poorer, and doubled the National Debt.

So more of the same from the shameless Tories.

Perseverer, you appear to have plucked the word ‘ashamed’ out of thin air. It has no relevance to the post you’re referring to.
and it may surprise you to learn that i don’t actually think poorly of people who get ahead in life by botty-licking either…. it is ultimately harmless and does not damage anybody else…

the only instances that i think are perhaps ethically questionable are people who earn lots of money through illegal or exploitative means… e.g. drug dealers or a certain extremely unpleasant but very common type of private landlord

Naomi, you do seem to take exception to most things I post, but do you not think that people who are said to be jealous and bitter should not be ashamed?
I’ve read that three times and I’m still struggling to understand the question . Would you care to try again, perseverer?
I think your saying 'should people who are jealous and bitter be ashamed?'...am not sure why your asking naomi.. .has someone said they shouldn't or should?

I should have bet my left arm that somebody would have mentioned the nurses.

Boringly predicable.
Mp's basic salary, £84k. We should have been unpredictable and mentioned them as not working hard enough.
I don’t mind anyone mentioning nurses except, as so often happens here, yet again they’ve been mentioned in an entirely fake context.
You set it up, Deskdiary ...
> most people earn well who deserve to earn well

Garbage.

There, no mention of nurses at all ...
Yes perseverer... it was you who mentioned being ashamed .
so what a waste of time.
good luck to those who earn a lot of money, i don't see where there are too many downsides to the current Chancellor's statement.
