We're doing a lamb curry. I slow-cooked a leg of lamb from 6am and then took all the meat off. OH is just peeling some potatoes which I'll cube and throw in the air fryer before they go in the curry. That will be served with fluffy basmati rice and poppadoms.
I had my delivery from Naked Wines earlier, so just need to choose a suitable vino to accompany. My wine cooler is full so I've had to shove a few bottles in the pantry. To be honest I'll probably open a bottle of the irresistible pink Chardonnay from Budapest that I bought in Aldi and keep the other stuff for our party next week.
Broccoli and Stilton soup is a favourite of mine. I like celeriac and parsnip too with a dollop of creme fraiche and some bacon bits to serve.
I would settle for a cup of tea and a cheese toastie, but too sore to stand in kitchen so a can of pop and some painkillers for now, might get something later.
was going to have a pheasant roasted off with lardons etc but, given lunch out, I will settle for some pappardelle with jumbo prawns, cherry toms, mushrooms, chilli, leek strips and flat parsley running through the pasta...cracked black pepper too.
Finally diagnosed... rheumatoid arthritis, just started on methotrexate, hopefully that will start working soon. Two years of thinking it was long covid...
Oh dear, Rowan, I'm sorry to hear that. RA is a horrible condition. Still, DMARDs can keep the disease in-check. My mother struggled to tolerate MTX at the higher dose which was keeping her psoriasis under control but she had abnormal bloods (which I personally think was down to her not taking her Folic Acid as instructed) and so they lowered her dose but it was completely inefficacious and her legs, arms and torso were plastered in psoriatic plaques.
She actually went several years without a face-to-face appointment and suffered in silence until I emailed the CNS and explained that it was destroying her quality of life. Now she's just been to see the Consultant and has been escalated to Adalimumab. I'm very relieved and she's over the moon too.
I really hope the MTX gives you rapid and sustained relief xx
Tongue in cheek, Bobbi - a wee dram and a Gerard Butler look-a-like.
On the other hand, James Martin to cook me a meal!
You did ask what I wanted when I came in! x
