A Plea.

Although it is only November, certain ABers are already "cranking up" the forthcoming festivities with posts of cheer and goodwill.

Not negating the positive effect of this on the mental welfare of the posters, might I make a plea for those living alone at Christmas.
Please do not hassle them into joining in on your festivities and please leave them alone and try to undrestand that being absorbed into a "family, joyous" throng of merrymaking, might to them being perceived as a "living hell."

I agree with you. My mum used to go OTT at Christmas and it was great when we were kids.

These days the cynic in my just can't be bothered with it all. The only upsides are - I get pressies from my brother and his brood and the sales in my Oxfam shop increase quite a bit.

I get forced into this farrago every year. The falsehood, and the hail fellow well met, the strained bonhomie, cringeworthy to a miserable realist like myself. I also dislike humbugs……

sqad - you don't need to mention one should be alone - if needs be and if the time comes I will deffo be on my own with my Maxie of course. Anyway Xmas comes on Sunday this year and sure it's like another Sunday.

A couple chicken breasts, mashed and roasted potatoes and sister only likes mushy peas. A drop o' tay and a bun for afters.

What's not to like? xx
