Delays Due To Postal Strikes

If a parcel was posted last Wednesday, how much of a delay would I expect if it would have arrived by Saturday under normal circumstances? Am I right jn assuming there is a backlog?

There will be a backlog as no deliveries are made on strike days.

"The CWU has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Thursday 24, Friday 25 and Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December 2022."

impossible to say, really, but we're nowhere near full Xmas rush mode yet so it shouldn't be too bad. It'll depend when strikes are being held, whether your own postman is dodging winter bugs, where the parcel was going from and to ... etc

Tomorrow and Thursday also? At this rate the earliest I'd get it is Friday. :(

I live in rural isolation , some time ago, despite our remote location, we still got mail every two days or so. Now it has fallen down to getting a pile every two weeks , sometimes longer than that. if there is a strike we would not notice.

We've posted the few Christmas Cards we still send by Royal Mail; it gives them a fighting chance of getting there by Christmas.
