My ex husband was very wealthy but incapable of genuine love, something I unfortunately didn't realise until it was too late. In my eyes he is in reality a sad, poor man. Many years later I share my life with the most loving of men - we have very little money, a lovely cozy home and we feel very, very rich indeed!
I'm interested in Temptress' reply ( as a man whose alternately had sweet F all and has been very successful as well). Does your husband REALLY know how you feel? Is he happy to settle for that? I'm only asking because to me, what you have said is the height of NOT being in love, yet you appear to feel you have both love and money, or am I misunderstanding?
I can't comment on the money part....I've never had any lol!
So the answer must be love, to give love and to be loved.
Billy Conolly (one of the great modern day philosophers (spelling?) I feel) once said 'you're never lonely if you know someone, somewhere in the world loves you' never a truer word.
