Time to reconsider the 2nd Amendment (ratified in 1791).

they won't, been happening since 1791, and what a colossal mistake from ex british er american founders.
I don't really care about a distant country's law. The middle wast for example seems to have lax gun laws from my pov, but you never here anyone suggesting that change them
yea but there not our distant cousins across the proverbial pond.
so if he's tried in an adult court he could face the death penalty then ?
You may not care bednobs...but plenty of us do.
Tragic...and I somehow can't help but wonder if this child has other issues. No emotion?
You’ve got a dog in the fight though Pasta, the vast majority on this site don’t, and whilst I think the gun-owning culture in America is weird, I’m with bednobs, I couldn’t give a tinker’s cuss. It affects me and mine not one jot.
I don't care about it either, sad though it is.

It's like alot of horrible things that happen in places I don't live and never will, I'm just thankful I'm not involved. It's their issue, we've go our own deal with - knife crime for example.
Sadly, Americans remain welded to the 'frontier' mindset that was absolutely valid at the time of the Constitution, and it remains so in the American psyche.

Add the formidable power of the NRA and similar bodies who make billions from guns every year, and we have a situation that is not going to change for decades, maybe centuries.
I would say I'm shocked but I'm not surprised anymore. I despair about the easy access gun culture in the US and knife crime in the UK, and the state of the world at the moment, tbh.
They'll never give up their right to arm bears, end of.
Frankly I'm bored, don't know why they even bother reporting it. There is probably an atrocity every day, they only report some of them anyway.
//You may not care bednobs...but plenty of us do.//

I'm at the stage where I don't bother reading about mass shootings in the US, if they don't care why should others? We can't influence their dependence on 18th century rules, if they wanted to change them, as other parts of their precious constitution have been changed, they would have done so long since.
The 'rules' were put in place so the people could protect themselves from a dictatorship or coup etc.

Given the current administration and their desire to control and cancel any opposition it is unlikely anyone in the USA would agree to change.

Besides, the gun isnt the underlying problem in Switzerland for instance you can have a semi or fully automatic weapon but you dont see the Swiss going about committing mass murder.

If you removed the gun in the US nothing would change, just the method. Although with an estimated 400 million guns in the US even if you outlawed it you are not going to stop it.
