The main months for snow are January and February but the first snow is often in December and it can continue into March. (I'm ignoring freak weather events in that statement. It has been known to snow in June!)

There has been snow here in Manchester for a week.
December is quite early. Jan Feb more normal. Basically, the more northern you go in England, the more likely you are to get snow.
