Found in a short story dating back to 1929...relating to a person's mood.
'Fwent'...have googled with no success.
Putting in CB because it will get lost otherwise.

Typing error originally. W next to e on qwerty keyboard a nd as someone who used to touch type it happens often. And proofreading has missed it

Meaghan....the story isn't *that* old. I think the f for s went out of usage well before 1929.
Pp...maybe, but even a mistake made from a hand written copy would have been picked up for this edition.
I don't know, but don't think once a book is published it will be proof read for ever new7 edition.
"The author was Scottish...I wonder if it is some old usage"

I looked on the "Dictionaries of the Scots Language" website and it's not in there either.
