Onedrive Account Closure

Hi!
My mother has just received an email saying that her “OneDrive account is about to be deleted”.
She doesn’t use OneDrive, but will deleting the account affect her Hotmail account?
I’m not sure if the 2 are linked? She uses her emails quite a lot so I’m confused as to why she’s had an email to say her account hasn’t been used for 2 years.

She received the email because she hasn't used her OneDrive account in 2 years, that's all that means. It won't affect her Hotmail email account, she has nothing to worry about.

If she wants to keep the OneDrive account, all she has to do is sign in to it, and it will be kept for a further 2 years.

I've got a @hotmail.com email address that I allowed OneDrive on to be deleted, and it still works perfectly. I also have a @outlook.com account that no longer has a OneDrive account linked to it - that also works fine.

I host my own cloud backup site, so don't have any use for OneDrive any more. I hope that has answered your question.
