One left: 15 across: "This opens in composition ...as in opera maybe?" I have "?ria", so it must be "aria", I think, but I've no idea why. Can anybody explain, please......or offer a better solution? Many thanks......in advance.

Compound anagram - remove 'opens' from 'as in opera'.

Well- after seeing Prof Maisie's answer, I solved this for all the wrong reasons
I parsed it as "a ria"
A ria is a river valley that gets flooded when the sea level rises and over time forms (composes) a long narrow inlet that opens out to the sea. I assumed the word "composition" was used rather than "formation" to tie it in to opera!
Ah well, I still got the correct answer!
