Do I Change Job Or Not Dilemma.
12 Answers
I have a chance at a new job but I'm in a quandry . I've been in my current job 20yrs now and I feel like part of the furniture but not in a good way . I have two areas of work that I'm responsible for which takes the majority of my working wk and keeps me from being amongst rest of the staff so feel like i miss out on being part of the team.
Also I feel like I'm left out of the loop alot too -with work related info and chit chat too. :/
Besides this I just feel I need to move to pastures new-to new jobplace and new(nicer) employers.. The pay has been quite good but only from previous employer before current employer bought business.
And also my hours are pretty good which works well round my family.
The possible new job will be the change I need and it will be closer to home so less time getting to and from work and less petrol. The pay will be slightly less which I can live with but the hours aren't going to be great . The the mo the latest I have to work is 5pm and new job will have two 6.30pm finishes a week. and one 5pm finish . :/
I have been looking for new job in my area for 2yrs and this is the only place in my line of work that comes close to fitting the bill so it feels like either I go for this or just stay put in the job that is starting to drive me nuts just for convenience sake. Can anyone help with advice . My husband helps out two days a week by finishing early to be home for my son and when i broached subject with him earlier that I may need to change one of the days he wasn't very happy . It's all making my head hurt. :( I have an interview tomorro and don't know what to think about the whole thing.

Everyone was very nice including the lady who would be my manager. If I stay in my job I am going to have to tackle (again) my issues with spending too much time on my own . There is different staff now that could poss make a difference with this but manager has never been very open to changing anything. Their suggestion was too work quicker so I would have time to do other tasks (the cheek!)I'm a very heads down and get on with it as quick as poss person so I was quite offended when she said this. or for me to work more hours so I could do my jobs and then have some hours out with the rest of the team .not a great suggestion either.
I'd like to job share with someone and that would help if I'm on holiday /snowed under/off sick too but i've been asking for ages and staff have been asking to take the role but boss obviously not interested in this. :/
