cant lose weight...

i cannot lose weight ...im 2 stone over my normal weight...i eat sensibly..salads..high protein foods...drink no more than 8 pints per week..i work as a scaffolder foreman and so burn enough calories daily...i cant understand it...my doc has checked thyroid...normal and im due to be checked for thyroid again next week...allthough 2 stone overweight doesnt seem that much its just that what i eat and my work and stuff i shouldnt be over weight in the first place...my friends cannot believe what i eat...while they eat all they want i control everything......i just turned 40 and feel that everything has slowed down even more than before...

If you are burning far more calories than you are taking in then I think it is possible that your body will retain weight because it thinks it is being starved, I am sure someone will be able to explain that a bit better than me but I have read about it before.

Are you muscular as muscle weighs more than fat.
Try and add up the calories you consume in say a week against the exercise you do in case you're consuming far more calories than you are burning off.
Some seemingly healthy options are often packed with calories and sugar and such. Do you drink, say, lots of orange juice or sugary drinks?

ok.......typical daily diet---- morning..6 am ...nothing only a coffee....10 am- 2 rnds brown bread if im lucky..or a banana...1 pm is few chicken legs or 4 rnds brown bread. with chicken or salad...or 3 tracker bars...6pm is-2 chicken fillets,brocalli, no potatoes or pasta..or chips...and water.............figure that one out? thats really my honest answer....i do not over eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!...must point out i havent had a fry in years or chips...just cant eat anything like that....you baffled????????????? i am!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend joining Weightwatchers/Slimming World or a similar slimming club.
It makes a real difference when you are writing down everything you eat/drink and add up the fat grams/calories/points/whatever system is used by the club.
You would probably find that you would be able to eat a lot more than you currently are.
BTW some men are embarrassed about 'women's' slimming clubs but there are often men there and no-one would bat an eyelid anyway.
P.S. Your body will be used to the level of exercise that you get through work - good idea to push yourself further with regular brisk walks etc.
